About Kunstraum 34:

The Kunstraum 34 (abbreviated as K34) is a non-profit art association located in the basement of the Atelierhaus Filderstraße 34 in Stuttgart Süd. Founded in 1982 by the artists working there at the time, the association has been promoting local and international exhibitions and events in the field of contemporary art and music for over four decades. Due to its dedication to time-based, experimental, and interdisciplinary projects with a focus on art and music, the association serves as an important interface with other institutions in the cultural scene of Stuttgart. In addition to various projects, the association has been organizing the annual Klangraum festival for New Music since 1985. The association’s program is determined by the volunteer members in the Art and Music Advisory Board. These members are also the ones who, in a voluntary capacity, plan the various events and contribute to the diversity of the association. Kunstraum 34 receives ongoing support from the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart and is a part of the ADKV (Association of German Art Associations).

About Klangraum:

Kunstraum 34 has been organizing the annual Klangraum festival for experimental music and performance since 1985. Since its foundation, the Klangraum festival has been an experimental crossover event with invited national and international musicians and visual artists. Each year, several artists and groups are presented over a condensed weekend as part of the festival. The focus is on new music, improvisations and sound collages, some of which are linked by an overarching theme. Artistic projects are presented in which musical-acoustic, visual and scenic elements intertwine in a wide variety of ways.

Equal cultural participation is important to us at Kunstraum 34. The entrance to the small exhibition space and the garden on the ground floor of Kunstraum 34 are wheelchair accessible. We strive to further improve accessibility on-site and online in the future.
